On Himalaya Diwas, Pujya Swamiji Highlights Significance of Himalayas to Vivekananda Youth Connect Foundation

On Himalaya Day, Pujya Swamiji highlighted the profound significance of the Himalayas, not just as a geographical marvel but as a vital part of Indian culture and heritage.

Speaking as the Chief Guest at an online seminar organized by the Vivekananda Youth Connect Foundation, Swami Ji emphasized the role of the Himalayas in sustaining life, spirituality, and prosperity in India. He remarked that the Himalayas are our “spiritual land and Switzerland,” vital for India’s climate, agriculture, and sacred rivers like the Ganga and Yamuna.

Swami Ji also stressed the importance of preserving the Himalayas, noting the threats posed by climate change, deforestation, and pollution. He called for collective efforts to protect this invaluable resource by reducing single-use plastic, planting trees, and promoting sustainable practices. He concluded by urging everyone to recognize the global importance of the Himalayas, as their health is crucial to India’s happiness and well-being.

हिमालय दिवस के अवसर पर परमार्थ निकेतन के अध्यक्ष स्वामी चिदानन्द सरस्वती जी ने कहा कि भारत का मस्तक हिमालय, न केवल भौगोलिक दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण है, बल्कि यह भारतीय संस्कृति और साहित्य की दृष्टि से भी विशेष स्थान रखता है।

स्वामी चिदानन्द सरस्वती जी को विवेकानंद यूथ कनेक्ट फाउंडेशन द्वारा हिमालय दिवस के अवसर पर ‘‘हिमालय के लिए अभिनव समाधान’’-सतत विकास के लिए अत्याधुनिक विचारों और प्रौद्योगिकियों पर चितंन-मंथन हेतु आयोजित आॅनलाइन संगोष्ठि में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में विशेष रूप से आमंत्रित किया। इस अवसर पर स्वामी जी ने प्रेरणादायी उद्बोधन दिया।

हिमालय की महानता, स्थिरता, प्राकृतिक सुंदरता के साथ सांस्कृतिक, पर्यावरणीय और आर्थिक दृष्टि से भी महत्वपूर्ण है। दुनिया की किसी भी पर्वत श्रृंखला में समाज को जीवन, साहस और समृद्धि प्रदान करने की शक्ति नहीं है, जितनी हिमालय के पास है। हिमालय का संबंध भारत से ही नहीं बल्कि भारत की आत्मा से है। हिमालय ने भारतीय मूल्यों को अपने में सहेज कर रखा है अब हमें हिमालय के प्राकृतिक सौन्दर्य एवं सांस्कृतिक विरासत को संजो कर रखना होगा।

स्वामी चिदानन्द सरस्वती जी ने कहा कि हिमालय है तो हम हैं, और हिमालय है तो गंगा है। हिमालय हमारा स्पिरिचुअल लैण्ड है और स्विटरजरलैंड भी है। हिमालय, भारत की जलवायु को नियंत्रित करता है। यह मानसून की हवाओं को रोकता है और देश में वर्षा लाता है। इसके बिना, भारत एक रेगिस्तान की तरह भी हो सकता है।
