A Significant Meeting Between Paramarth Niketan President Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji and Hon’ble Tourism, Culture & Irrigation Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj Ji.
A detailed discussion was held on the holistic development of Uttarakhand, including Rudraksha Tourism, Peace Tourism, eco-friendly homestays, yoga & meditation tourism, beautification of the 54-km-long Tehri Lake, organic promotion, resorts, residential schools, women & youth empowerment, local employment generation, and various environment-friendly initiatives.
Special emphasis was placed on preserving Uttarakhand’s immense natural heritage, cultural treasures, and its identity as the divine land of spirituality.
Rishikesh, 22 November — A significant dialogue took place between Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, President of Parmarth Niketan, and Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj Ji. The discussion focused on promoting Uttarakhand as a global model of sustainable, spiritual and eco-friendly development.
Rudraksha Tourism:
Swami Ji highlighted the spiritual significance of Rudraksha, its natural presence in Uttarakhand, and the potential for creating Rudraksha-based spiritual tourism circuits that support farmers, artisans and the rural economy.
Peace Tourism & Yoga–Meditation Tourism:
Recognizing the world’s rising need for peace and mental well-being, plans for peace retreats, meditation camps, yoga villages, wellness programs, and spiritual journeys were discussed to position Uttarakhand as a global center for wellness and inner transformation.
Eco-Friendly Homestays:
Environment-friendly homestays that preserve local culture, promote organic food, and support rural livelihoods were emphasized, along with training programs for local communities.
Development of Tehri Lake:
The 54-km-long Tehri Lake was discussed as a potential world-class eco-tourism destination with beautification projects, water sports, natural parks, wellness resorts and community spaces.
Organic Farming & Rural Economy:
Discussions included promoting organic farming, medicinal plants, value addition, packaging, global marketing and farmer training to strengthen local agriculture and the rural economy.
Value-Based Education:
Plans for cultural centers, spiritual learning spaces and value-based residential schools were reviewed to ensure that the younger generation receives both education and cultural grounding.
Women & Youth Empowerment:
Strategies to provide local employment and curb migration included promoting entrepreneurship, tourism, wellness programs, adventure tourism, organic products and digital skill development.
Environment & Nature Conservation:
Hon’ble Maharaj Ji emphasized river conservation, Himalayan biodiversity, forest preservation, plastic-free initiatives and climate-sensitive development.
The meeting concluded with the shared vision that the government, spiritual institutions, local communities and global partners will work together to establish “Devbhoomi Uttarakhand” as a world model of eco-tourism, yoga–wellness and cultural preservation.
