Bangalore AIDS and HIV Conference

On 27-28th September, Pujya Swamiji was one of the main spiritual leaders at a conference at the Art of Living ashram in Bangalore regarding HIV and AIDS in India, where He gave a keynote address. It was a wonderful gathering of leaders of all the different religions as well as leaders from UNAIDS – India, UNESCO – India and INERELA+.

Pujya Swamiji also led a breakout session helping religious leaders from various parts of Punjab and Uttarakhand understand the nature of HIV and AIDS, how it’s transmitted and how all spiritual leaders can work to eliminate the stigma attached to those living with HIV.

Subsequent to the conference, He was requested to become a member of the Asia/Pacific wing of INERELA+, to which He has agreed.

Hopefully with God’s grace and the spiritual leaders’ involvement, we can take steps towards both prevention of more cases and also toward removal of the stigma and discrimination faced by those living with HIV in India.
