A New Lifeline for Healthcare: Free Patient Bus Service Connecting Rishikesh and Dehradun
In a significant step towards compassionate healthcare, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, President of Parmarth Niketan, flagged off the Free Patient Bus Service from Rishikesh to Graphic Era Hospital, Dehradun. This noble initiative by Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences & Hospital aims to provide safe, dignified, and free transportation for patients in need.
The inauguration was graced by Mahant Shri Raghuveer Giri Ji Maharaj (Veerbhadra Mahadev Temple, Rishikesh), Shri Shambhu Paswan Ji (Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Rishikesh), and Shri Prateek Kalia Ji (District General Secretary, BJP Rishikesh & General Secretary, Nagar Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal), along with revered saints, doctors, social workers, and community leaders.
In his inspiring message, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji said, “Service is the highest form of worship in Indian culture. Serving a patient is not merely providing medical care—it is worshipping God. When we bring hope into the life of someone who is suffering, humanity truly celebrates.”
He emphasized that alongside modern hospitals, society also needs compassionate systems that ensure healthcare reaches the poorest and the most vulnerable. No one should be deprived of treatment because they cannot afford transportation.
Pujya Swamiji appreciated Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, for this visionary initiative, stating that healthcare should extend beyond hospital walls and reach every village, every family, and every person in need. He added that this is the true spirit of Rashtra Dharma (National Duty), Manav Dharma (Human Duty), and Sanatan Dharma.
