Pujya Swamiji’s Message on World Children’s Day

On the sacred occasion of World Children’s Day, sending heartfelt wishes to all children across the world—our innocent, pure, and bright future—Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji said that this day is a call for self-reflection, collective resolve, and concrete steps towards shaping a better future. Children are not only the joy of a family, but also the direction of a nation and the future of humanity. In their eyes shines the light of hope; in their curiosity, the flame of knowledge; and in their simplicity, the touch of divinity.

Pujya Swami Ji said that children are truly the living manifestation of the Divine. When a child smiles, it purifies not just the home but the entire atmosphere. When a child learns, it is not only knowledge that grows but humanity itself evolves. Their innocent smile reminds us how beautiful life is and how it should be lived—with love, compassion, and simplicity.

In Indian culture, children have always been accorded the highest place. Our scriptures, Vedas, and ancient teachings revere childhood as a state filled with purity, creativity, and divine potential. In this spirit, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji emphasized: “Whether you give your child a car or not, always give them values.” Modern comforts may make life easier, but only values build character.

History offers many inspiring examples. Mahatma Gandhi’s mother, Putlibai, would not even drink water before seeing the rising sun. This discipline, spirituality, and moral strength nurtured Mohandas into “Mahatma Gandhi.” Similarly, Swami Vivekananda often said that the greatest treasure of his life was the values he received from his mother, Bhubaneswari Devi. A great leader, saint, or karmayogi is not created in schools alone, but in the nurturing arms of mothers and the sanctity of a good home.

Pujya Swami Ji further said that World Children’s Day reminds us that the future of our nation depends on securing and strengthening the present of our children. In a rapidly changing world driven by technology and competition, children need not only modern knowledge but also values, compassion, responsibility, and self-discipline. When education, science, and technology are combined with Indian culture and Sanatan values, children emerge not just intelligent but wise, sensitive, and deeply rooted in character.

India today is the youngest nation in the world, and this youth power becomes meaningful only when built on love, safety, and values. Childhood must be free from fear and anxiety. Children deserve an environment where they can dream freely, learn joyfully, and grow fully. When compassion fills their hearts, clarity shapes their thoughts, and service becomes their way of life, society naturally progresses.

Pujya Swami Ji reminded everyone that children are not our tomorrow—they are our responsibility today. To protect their smiles, to give wings to their dreams, and to lay the foundation of values in their lives is the duty of every individual. When children are cultured, society becomes cultured. When children are safe, the nation becomes safe. And when children are confident, the future becomes powerful.

In conclusion, Pujya Swami Ji urged all to take a collective pledge on this day—to keep the light of love, safety, and ideals ever-bright in the lives of our children. Provide not just comfort, but values; not just education, but direction; not just opportunities, but inspiration. If today we nurture divinity, culture, and education together within our children, then tomorrow they will emerge as enlightened, responsible, and value-driven citizens—the true bright future of India.

On World Children’s Day, Pujya Swami Ji blessed all children that their lives be filled with joy, energy, compassion, and success; and that wherever they go, they spread light and elevate humanity to greater heights.
