In times of crisis, like one family – a message of service and compassion to Uttarkashi

“You are not alone” – Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji

The disaster that struck Dharali, Uttarkashi, and nearby areas has left not only the hearts of the local residents, but the entire nation deeply pained. Homes have been destroyed, memories buried under rubble, and dreams shattered. In such difficult times, uniting with love, compassion, and the spirit of service is true relief.

With the blessings of Maa Ganga and Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, the second consignment of relief material for our affected brothers and sisters in Dharali was dispatched from Parmarth Niketan. This consignment included ration, medicines, clothes, sarees, blankets, sanitary napkins, soap, toothpaste, brushes, handwash, and other daily essentials. This is not just material aid, but an expression of love, care, and the assurance – “You are not alone, the whole of India stands with you.”

Pujya Swami Ji said, “What has been lost cannot return, but by coming together we can give each other strength. Service is the truest path of sadhana.”

The sevadal and Rishikumars of Parmarth Niketan packed each parcel not only with necessary items but also with prayers and heartfelt wishes.

Our Parmarth Rishikumars lovingly packed and prepared the boxes to go in our second major distribution of necessities for the victims of the tragic Himalayan flood in Dharali, Uttarkashi . In both of the distributions we have provided food, medicines, clothing, rain gear, hygiene and sanitation necessities and so much more. Teaching our young Rishikumars that manas seva (service of humanity) is Madhav seva (service of the Divine) is one of our core goals at Parmarth Niketan with Pujya Swamiji’s blessings and leadership.

Swami Ji spoke with Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami Ji about green, sustainable, and safe development, assuring that more relief material and rehabilitation assistance will be sent if required.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Uttarakhand, the Indian Army, the administration, NDRF, police, healthcare workers, and all volunteer organizations whose courage, promptness, and selfless service saved countless lives and brought strength to those affected.

This initiative is not just relief work, but a living example of the spirit of service and compassion that is the soul of India. Until smiles return to every home in Dharali, our service will continue.
