On #HimalayaDiwas, Pujya Swamiji gave an inspiring and uplifting speech on how each citizen and each state in the Himalayan Region can truly be the solution to the challenges facing one of the largest water towers and oxygen bank of the world.

He deeply touched everyone by sharing that if we look at the root of the word Himalaya, “Him” meaning ice and “Alaya” meaning home of, hence “Himalaya” being home of ice. He expressed his concern over #climatechange, fast receding glaciers, overexploited and over-extracted freshwater bodies are threatening this home. He then shared that if each individual living in the sacred mountain range feels that it is their responsibility to protect this region and has the sense of belongingness that converts this “Himalaya” (home of ice) to “Hum-alaya” (our own home), then automatically they will be moved to use their time, talent, technology and tenacity (4Ts) to do everything we can to find solutions to these challenges before our home is destroyed. He ignited the sense of belongingness in the hearts of hundreds and called everyone to be part of the solution for sustainable change and development.
