Seva Celebrations: Go Dharmic’s Beautiful Birthday Gift to Param Pujya Swamiji!

परम पूज्य स्वामी चिदानंद सरस्वती जी (मुनिजी) के अवतरण दिवस पर कई प्रेरक शिक्षाएँ, संदेश और पर्यावरण से संबंधित उपहारों को बहुत ही खूबसूरती से प्रतिबिंबित किया। उन्होंने अपने विचारों को साझा करते हुए कहा कि अब हमें हमारी धरती को बचाने के लिये प्राचीन, सतत और सुरक्षित तरीकों को अपनाना होगा क्योंकि हमारी पृथ्वी का तापमान बढ़ रहा हैं तथा वैश्विक स्तर पर जल, वायु और मिटटी प्रदूषित होती जा रही है। अगर हमें मानवता को जीवित रखना है तो हमारी प्राचीन परंपराओं को स्वीकार करना होगा। आइए हम इन परंपराओं से मुक्त होकर एक नए युग की ओर बढ़ें, अपने जन्मदिन पर फूल तोड़ने के बजाय आइए हम पेड़ लगाएं, ताकि सभी को शीतल आश्रय प्राप्त हो सकें। इस समय हम सभी का एक ही अनुष्ठान हो पौधों का रोपण और यही हम सभी के लिये वरदान भी बन सकता है।

इस निस्वार्थ सेवा को मूर्त रूप देते हुए हमारे प्रिय मित्र ‘गो-धर्मिक’ ने इस वर्ष पूज्य स्वामी जी को अपना अमूल्य उपहार दिया – सुंदरवन, भारत में 30,000 वर्ग मीटर को कवर करते हुए 70,000 मैंग्रोव पेड़ों का रोपण करने का अद्भुत सेवा कार्य किया।

One of HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji’s many inspiring teachings concerns gifts and gift-giving. On His recent Birth Anniversary, he beautifully reflected on this teaching, sharing that “No longer can we follow the ways of even 50 years ago. Our world is becoming hotter, dryer and more and more polluted. Traditions, such as even my own birthday celebration, must change if we as humanity are to survive. Let us break free from these traditions towards a new era. Rather than plucking flowers for my birthday let us plant trees, so that all may benefit from their cooling shelter. In such a way, a single ritual, or a single celebration, can become a boon for all.”

Embodying this selfless teaching so perfectly, our dear friends at Go Dharmic offered their extraordinary gift to Pujya Swamiji this year – the planting of 70,000 Mangrove trees, covering 30,000 square metres across Sundarbans, India – the mangrove area in the delta formed by the confluence of the Padma, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers in the Bay of Bengal.
