Pujya Swamiji’s message on International Tolerance Day
As Pujya Swamiji always shares “Where there is understanding there is compassion. Where there is understanding there is tolerance. Where there is understanding there is acceptance. It is the tragic lack of understanding between people that leads to much of our personal and interpersonal anguish.”
On International Tolerance Day, Pujya Swamiji emphasized the importance of acceptance, more than that of tolerance saying, “We are born equal as humans and as part of the divine whole. We should accept each other as equals. Religion says to treat everyone with love, care, kindness, and respect, and not to do to others what we would not want to be done to ourselves.
Sanatan Dharma,” He concluded, “calls for collective and inclusive happiness, and mutual respect. It has always offered a powerful message of not just human rights, but living rights by which we live for each other, respect each other’s beliefs and, most importantly, nurture the culture of listening to each other.”
