Holi Celebrations: Local Culture Connects to Global Community

The divine colours and festivities of Holi filled the air at Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh (Himalayas). For the special occasion, the Kumaon Cultural Club of Uttarakhand came to Parmarth to celebrate Holi with all of the visitors, yatris and yoga students at Parmarth Niketan, who have come from so many countries from across the world. IYF Opens with Shivratri Puja and Prayers

Today the participants for the 15th annual world famous International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan ashram arrived in time to participate in a special Mahashivratri program. Visiting the Disaster Zone: Pujya Swamiji and Vivek Oberoi Travel to the Heart of Uttarakhand’s Flood Zone

Pujya Swamiji and renowned Bollywood actor Shri Vivek Oberoi visited areas of Guptakashi, Uttarakhand, which are still recovering from the devastating floods of last summer. While there, they distributed warm blankets and clothes for the families whose homes and lives had been destroyed by the floods.
